Job Summary
Oversee quality management for underground utility construction, including stormwater, duct bank, wastewater, and water systems. Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality procedures while ensuring project teams follow standards and documentation processes. Review specifications, contract requirements, and utility quality standards across multiple owners, coordinating testing activities such as pressure and hydrology verification. Conduct quality reviews, audits, and inspections to drive compliance, collaborating with project managers and contractors to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. Monitor performance metrics, risks, and trends to identify improvement opportunities. Serve as a remote-based quality resource with regular travel to project sites, potentially managing a quality team as demands grow. Leverage expertise in large-scale utility infrastructure projects and quality systems like ISO 9000 or Mortenson's Quality System.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field
- Minimum three years' experience in the design, engineering, or construction industry with experience leading a project's quality system
- Strong attention to detail to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier
- Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of one or more quality systems: i.e., Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Army Corps of Engineers, Mortenson's Quality System, continuous improvement, value streams, etc.
- Experience with issue management, and inspection of work put in place
- Completed training in basic project management and supervision
- Current driver's license
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
