Job Summary
Quality Manager at the Waco, TX paper manufacturing facility responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of product quality, leading quality-related activities, investigating customer claims to minimize impact, representing the plant in customer visits, planning and conducting product trials with thorough documentation, maintaining FDA-related chemical records and ensuring regulatory compliance, developing training plans for the quality team, collaborating with Sales and Corporate Customer Technical Services, overseeing the Technical Lab and testing, fostering a strong safety culture, and supporting continuous improvement across quality processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years of leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Engineering, Chemistry)
- Proven experience in the paper or packaging industry is essential
- Demonstrated experience working in a laboratory environment
- Strong safety awareness and a commitment to workplace safety
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to participate in on-call/weekend duty rotation
- In-depth knowledge of printing press runnability
- Familiarity with SAP systems
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, driving results and achieving goals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
