Quality Manager

Job Summary

Lead Fremont's quality function by strengthening internal processes, document control, and team capability to support multi-site growth. Own the document control system, ensuring procedures and work instructions remain current across all sites while evaluating eQMS tooling for scalable version control. Partner with global quality engineers to unify site practices into a coherent system and lead supplier quality initiatives including audits and incoming inspection policies. Mentor staff in process design and root cause investigation, actively participate in Change Control Board reviews, and serve as the key contact for customer quality interactions and escalations. Prepare for and support ISO 9001 audits at Fremont, Malaysia, and Korea, while collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues and drive CAPA/8D actions. Represent quality in customer-facing discussions and international travel as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)
  • 7+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality management roles
  • demonstrated experience building or maturing quality systems
  • Strong working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (8D, FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA)
  • Experience implementing or administering document control systems
  • Experience developing or unifying QMS processes across multiple sites or business units
  • Experience with supplier quality programs — qualification, audit, and ongoing performance management
  • Experience with ISO 9001 internal and external audits
  • direct audit-preparation experience
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior quality engineering staff
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
  • comfort operating in customer-facing and international contexts
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally (Malaysia, Korea) as needed to support site quality initiatives and audit readiness

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, or other highly regulated precision manufacturing industries
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
  • Experience standing up or repairing a document control system from a degraded or inconsistent state
  • Familiarity with copy-exact methodology or similar process replication frameworks used by semiconductor capital equipment customers
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, or similar)
  • ideally within an eQMS platform (e.g., MasterControl, Arena, Qualio, ETQ, or similar)
  • direct audit-preparation experience strongly preferred
