Job Summary
Develop and maintain the facility's Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 standards while leading all quality assurance and control activities across manufacturing, refurbishment, repair, assembly, inspection, and testing processes. Establish quality policies, procedures, and inspection plans to ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory codes. Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections for gas turbines, generators, auxiliary skids, and components from internal and external suppliers. Manage supplier quality initiatives, including audits, performance monitoring, and corrective actions, while leading root cause investigations and CAPA programs. Analyze quality metrics to reduce defects and warranty costs, and partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues. Ensure calibration of testing equipment and manage Material Review Board activities. Lead and mentor quality personnel, reporting performance objectives to executive leadership. Reports to the VP of PM/SC/IT. Initial compensation is $123,500 to $142,050. Normal hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional travel to customer sites and vendor facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, quality management or a related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education
- Eight years of progressive quality management experience within manufacturing, heavy industrial equipment, rotating equipment, power generation, aerospace, or related industries
- Five years in a leadership or management role
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing Quality Management Systems in an ISO 9001 or comparable quality environment
- Experience supporting manufacturing, repair, or refurbishment of large industrial equipment
- Experience leading internal, customer, and certification audits
- Strong understanding of supplier quality management and multi-vendor fabrication oversight
- Strong technical interpretation skills for engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
- Working knowledge of Non-destructive examination (NDE) processes
- Familiarity with Supplier quality systems, material traceability, configuration management, manufacturing process controls and document control systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Physical mobility to transverse stairways, ladders, grating, and uneven terrain
- Ability to see, hear, read, and react to warning signs, lights, and alarms
- Mental alertness and adherence to all safety warnings and posted safety signs
- Completion of the Fitness for Duty Program including post-offer physical examination and drug screening
- Post-employment random drug screening participation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in gas turbine, generator, or power generation equipment refurbishment
- Experience with welding quality requirements, NDE methods, pressure systems, and precision machining
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE)
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- ERP & Quality Management software SAP, Oracle, IFS
- Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, FMEA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Risk-based thinking, Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma methodologies
- Gas turbine refurbishment processes, generator overhaul and repair, precision machining and fabrication, and welding inspection and quality requirements
- Mechanical assembly and testing, and electrical testing and inspection
