Job Summary
Lead Mortenson's quality system on medium to large projects by implementing the Quality Management Plan from start to final acceptance and establishing quality control initiatives. Review project plans for quality requirements, manage Quality Events and punch lists, and resolve issues with or without guidance from the Project Manager. Oversee third-party design and testing agencies, manage subcontracts and suppliers, and coach Field and Project Engineers on career development. Ensure necessary corrective and preventative actions are taken while maintaining high professionalism and confidentiality. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management with three years of industry experience leading quality systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field
- Minimum three years' experience in the design, engineering, or construction industry with experience leading a project's quality system
- Strong attention to detail to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier
- Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of one or more quality systems: i.e., Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Army Corps of Engineers, Mortenson's Quality System, continuous improvement, value streams, etc.
- Experience with issue management, and inspection of work put in place
- Completed training in basic project management and supervision
- Current driver's license
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
