Job Summary

Lead and manage the Quality Assurance department within IMP Aerospace & Defence, overseeing QA program implementation and maintenance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, standards, and applicable regulations across IMP Aerospace, Electronic Systems, and Canadian Support Helicopters. Responsibilities include maintaining management system documentation, auditing programs, corrective actions, risk/root cause analysis, non-conforming product control, technical investigations, AVL processes, quality alerts, material and warranty review boards, Flight Safety program implementation, FACO activities, authoring and approving management system documentation, supporting continuous improvement, liaising with senior leadership to resolve QMS/technical issues, ensuring customer interface on quality issues, and conducting contract reviews. The role also involves managing training needs, participating in committees (FOD/Tool Control/Flight Safety), and acting as GIDEP representative, with the potential to work within a collaborative, equity-focused environment and to benefit from comprehensive packages including RRSP, tuition reimbursement, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineer, Technologist or Technical Training from the Canadian Forces or a Transport Canada approved training organization or equivalent background of training and experience in the aircraft maintenance/manufacturing industry
  • Trained in the field of Quality Assurance/Quality Management & Auditing
  • Minimum 10 years aviation industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a Quality Assurance role
  • Minimum of 5 years in a management capacity with emphasis on Quality
  • Experience and knowledge with DND Flight Safety System or SMS is an asset
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances
