Quality Manager

Job Summary

Manage the plant's quality program by enforcing safety, GMP, and company policies while interpreting customer requirements into manufacturing specifications. Monitor customer complaints, track corrective actions, and define systems ensuring compliance with GMPs, certifications, and audit requirements. Lead the quality staff through hiring, training, and daily direction; develop operating procedures for inspection devices and process control points to eliminate defects. Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Customer Service on quality initiatives, and communicate performance metrics to management and personnel. Evaluate procedures for best practices in safety and efficiency, potentially leading special projects. Requires a Bachelor's degree, five years in manufacturing quality, and SPC knowledge. 0-25% travel may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or other applicable area
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of SPC and the applications within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, FMEA, CAPA, etc.)
  • Display team leadership while representing the Quality Team and Graham Packaging
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, GFSI, FDA standards, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Six sigma green belt, A3 or continuous improvement equivalent certification or above
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptionally strong communications and influencing skills
