Job Summary
Quality Manager - Food at Meijer facility overseeing design, implementation, and oversight of quality food safety and regulatory compliance programs for Meijer-manufactured products. Leads QA programs including GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, and allergen controls; ensures compliance with SQF Level 3, regulatory inspections, and customer quality expectations; serves as primary liaison with regulatory agencies; manages testing of products and materials; collaborates with plant and corporate teams on quality improvements and budget adherence. Onsite, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm; highlights include safety accountability, reduction of variation in product quality, training and supervision of QA staff, and support for product development efforts. Required Qualifications
- 4 year degree in Food Science, Science or related discipline required
- Minimum of 2 years of quality assurance supervisory experience within a food manufacturing environment
- General knowledge/experience with microbiological, chemical and physical testing of food products/ingredients
- General knowledge/training in Food Safety, HACCP, SQF required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
- Ability to analyze data and information to make timely and effective decisions
- Ability to work under pressure and to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
- Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
