Job Summary
Sustain the Derby Fabricating Quality Management System and provide direction to quality support personnel. Conduct day-to-day interactions with the plant manager on quality activities, including Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and facility audits. Facilitate the rejected material and corrective/preventive action process while assuming the role of ISO/TS16949 plant management representative. Interact with customers and suppliers regarding quality activities and perform product audits to measure process capability. Manage hiring, training, and counseling of employees, ensuring the work area remains clean and documents are properly maintained. Communicate problems to the Plant Manager and complete special projects as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive industry
- Working knowledge of AIAG core tools, e.g. Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Proficiency with with Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Interpret and understand blueprints
- Skilled in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, drop gages, Micro Vue, and steel rules
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good organization skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Occasional stooping, bending
- Periodic reaching overhead
- Some lifting up to twenty-five pounds
- Extended walking
- Handling and moving of bulky rolls of material
