Quality Manager and Metallurgist

Job Summary
Implement and control all manufacturing quality systems, including employee training, rejection analysis, customer complaint handling, and continuous improvement. Lead the Quality department, managing Lab Techs and Quality Engineers while specifying processing parameters for high-volume heat treatment and phosphate coating processes. Serve as the primary auditee for the plant during ISO, NADCAP, and IATF audits. Apply engineering principles to analyze deformation processes, thermodynamics, and material selection for steel and aluminum products. Maintain high quality standards using Statistical Process Control techniques and manage complete quality assurance systems.
Required Qualifications
- Good knowledge of the automotive industry and systems such as IS09001/IATF16949 and CQI-9, CQI-12, NADCAP
- Ability to plan, determine, formulate, establish and manage complete quality assurance systems
- Must maintain high quality standards
- Must be able to supervise
- Must be able to communicate
- Must be able to use computer related quality programs
- Must be able to use higher mathematics involving engineering principles
- Requires a degree in Metallurgy or related field
- A minimum of five years of manufacturing experience or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of heat treating principles including time, temperature, transformation relations, different Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) steels, hardness and microstructural analysis and quality control using SPC (Statistical Process Control) techniques
