Job Summary
Monitor and maintain the microbiology program, in-process quality, lab testing, and equipment calibration while ensuring strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safe Quality Food requirements. Conduct routine production line checks, perform product hold tests, and execute verification inspections to minimize non-conformance. Maintain laboratory cleanliness and accuracy, prepare product samples, and coordinate with OEM vendors for seam evaluations. Complete all associated documentation per SOPs and delegate work as directed by management. This role supports a global beverage bottler's mission to distribute products worldwide, requiring proficiency in Excel, SAP, and Power Point alongside hands-on laboratory experience.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- 3 - 4 years of experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment, preferable food/beverage industry
- Laboratory experience required
- In plants co-packaging alcoholic beverages, sensory tasting must be at least 21 years old
- Knowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF)
- Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP and Power Point
- Ability to analyze and solve problems, results oriented
- High level of precision and accuracy in inspection and testing processes
- Able to read and understand metric system
- Prior inspection experience in a laboratory setting
- Organized and detail oriented, adaptable to change
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in all quality assurance activities
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production environments and requirements
- Clear and concise communication with production staff and management
- ability to troubleshoot machinery and production issues efficiently, collaborating with others to resolve complex issues, adaptability to changing circumstances and willingness to implement new procedures
- Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required
- Overtime scheduled as needed
- Lifting 50 lbs. (minimum 5 lbs. up to 50lbs.)
- Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to using measurement tools and equipment (e.g., HPLC, Densitometer, pH, etc) preferred
- Familiarity with GFSI, GMP, and other relevant standards and regulations preferred
- Knowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) – certification ideal
