Job Summary
Monitor microbiology programs, in-process quality, and lab testing equipment while maintaining Good Laboratory Practice and GMP standards. Conduct routine production line checks, verify employee tasks, and determine product dispositions based on hold tests. Execute QA SOPs, send water samples to third-party labs, and perform seam evaluations with OEM vendors. Maintain accurate records of inspections and tests, delegate work as directed, and conduct training to optimize cross-functional performance. Collaborate with production staff to troubleshoot machinery issues and minimize non-conformance.
Required Qualifications
- Laboratory experience
- 3 - 4 years of experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- High level of precision and accuracy in inspection and testing processes
- Able to read and understand metric system
- Organized and detail oriented
- Adaptable to change
- Prior inspection experience in a laboratory setting
- Proficient in Excel
- Proficient in Word
- Proficient in SAP
- Proficient in Power Point
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in all quality assurance activities
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production environments and requirements
- Clear and concise communication with production staff and management
- Ability to troubleshoot machinery and production issues efficiently
- Willingness to implement new procedures
- Skilled in maintaining accurate and detailed records of inspections and tests
- Must be at least 21 years old (in plants co-packaging alcoholic beverages)
- Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight availability
- Overtime availability as needed
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

- Must adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements
- Must maintain proper operation, cleanliness and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Must maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times within Good Laboratory Practice
- Must be able to conduct routine checks on production line
- Must be able to test products on hold and determine disposition
- Must be able to conduct or carry out training
- Must be able to conduct verification inspections of employee tasks or reports
- Must be able to execute job according to QA standards and testing requirements
- Must be able to assign work delegation as directed by Management
- Must be able to accurately complete all associated documents as per QA SOP Manual
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to using measurement tools and equipment (e.g., HPLC, Densitometer, pH, etc)
- Familiarity with GFSI, GMP, and other relevant standards and regulations
- Understanding of Food Safety/Quality Requirements
- Knowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) – certification ideal
