Job Summary
Conduct quality assurance testing and verify products, raw materials, and incoming ingredients for compliance with specifications, temperature requirements, and regulatory standards. Investigate quality defects to determine root causes and implement preventive measures, while communicating out-of-specification items to production leads and supervisors. Lead a team of employees in inspection procedures, coordinate departmental activities, and train new members. Maintain accurate quality inspection records, compile daily reports, and validate equipment calibration. Work independently or within a team in a food processing environment, standing for long hours and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification
- experience in food manufacturing/and or quality
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good math skills
- Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
- Display strong work ethics and positive attitude
- Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction
- Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to work independently or as a team and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instruction and communicate findings with QA & Production Leads, and Supervisors
- Must be able to hear average or normal conversations to receive information, occasionally with loud background noise in the working environment
- Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers
- Average, ordinary visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery
- Regularly or frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is loud, wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are around 34-degrees. Employees are expected to remain in these conditions throughout the workday
