Quality Lab Technician

Job Summary
Interpret engineering specifications to determine quality and reliability standards, then select and test products for dimensions, performance, mechanical, and electrical characteristics. Record test data, evaluate deviations from existing standards, and recommend modifications to production procedures. Perform destructive and nondestructive tests to measure performance and material life, entering data into computer systems for analysis. Assist with complaint analysis, maintain safety and housekeeping, and support continuous improvement projects and Layered Process Audits. Interact with external customers, inspectors, and auditors as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with wire and cable testing
- Experience with fiber optic testing
- Experience with flame testing
- Experience with electrical testing
- Experience with mechanical testing
- Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
- Capable of multi-tasking
- Solid computer skills (Windows XP, MS Word, MS Excel)
- Writing ability
- Sound technical skills
- Analytical ability
- Good judgment
- Operational focus
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written with other associates, technicians, engineers and customers
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvements
Desired Qualifications
- Associates Degree in chemical or mechanical discipline
