Quality Inspector Trainee - 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Inspect semi-finished components, precision machined parts, and raw materials for conformance to customer specifications, production drawings, and industry standards. Perform and assist in physical and metallurgical tests on in-process and final production parts, including preparation of mounts and verification of equipment calibration. Manage gage room operations by creating, maintaining, and issuing gages through the GageTrak System, monitoring environmental controls, and performing in-house calibrations. Deliver part samples to the quality lab and ensure accurate identification tagging and documentation for all jobs and materials. Adhere to all company HSE policies, report safety violations or nonconformances immediately, and implement waste elimination initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 0-1 year of clerical/administrative experience, preferably in a lab, manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Basic mainframe computer systems
- Familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software
- Database systems
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time
- Eye-hand coordination
- Repetitive hand and arm movement and manual dexterity
- Ability to bend, reach to shoulder level and lift, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 30 pounds
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Ability to adjust focus
- Hearing level within normal/average range
- Ability to wear personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear PPE in specified areas
- Respecting and ensuring respect for the instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety and the environment
- Immediate correction or reporting of malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection
- Implementation of preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks
- Familiarity with the site's HSE policy and objectives
- Ability to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact
