Job Summary
Develop inspection plans, sampling levels, and oversee Quality and Certified Weld Inspectors to ensure products meet customer expectations and company standards. Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of raw materials, purchased products, and production outputs to verify compliance with contract requirements and prevent discrepant materials from entering the value stream. Manage daily workloads, prioritize tasks based on the Priority Dispatch report, and delegate responsibilities while mentoring employees on inspection techniques and equipment use. Promote process improvement, address performance issues through documented conversations, and ensure all staff adhere to safety policies and values. Provide feedback to the Master Scheduler on capacity and job status, fill in for absent employees, and lead department meetings to drive accountability across operations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a US citizen
- Required base minimum is a high school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree (or 5-8 years of manufacturing experience in a metal fabrication environment in lieu of an associate degree)
- Minimum of 5 years of quality inspector experience in a metal fabrication environment required
- Accurate blueprint reading experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to utilize a drawing, set up the correct tooling and measuring equipment needed to inspect parts to the company quality standards
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, internet, and email
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year Lead Inspector experience preferred
