Job Summary
Perform complex layout inspections on first-run and finished machined parts to ensure 100% compliance with customer specifications while leading CMM/VMM programming to support a high-volume weekly schedule. Interpret complex technical prints, GD&T symbols, and material specifications with total accuracy. Assist the office team with administrative tasks, data entry, and filing during transitional periods, and fill in for purchasing raw materials/tooling and providing data for job quotes. Utilize JobBOSS ERP to track jobs, log quality data, and manage inventory. Provide guidance to shop floor operators and office staff to maintain a culture of quality. Work a consistent first-shift schedule from 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM at a competitive pay scale of $30.00 – $35.00/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Layout Inspector in a machine shop setting
- Capability to use manual tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
- Capability to use automated equipment
- Significant experience in CMM or CNC programming
- Comfort with high-volume programming demands
- Expert-level ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Strong verbal and written skills
