Job Summary
Quality Inspector at Leidos Defense Systems in Colorado Springs is responsible for inspecting machined components and assemblies, documenting nonconformance and supporting root cause investigations, reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications, creating and maintaining acceptance data packages and AS9102 reports, and operating inspection equipment (CMMs, GOM) with GD&T. The role involves participating in corrective actions, documentation control, calibration, receiving inspection, and potentially travel to customer sites. Preferred qualifications include experience with AS9102 FAI, NCRs, MRB processes, AS5553 counterfeit prevention, and handling aerospace hardware; candidates should be able to lift up to 35 lbs and hold a Secret clearance; the position requires residency in the Colorado Springs area or relocation within the Colorado Springs – Monument - Pueblo region.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- 3-5 years of relevant Quality Inspection experience in an Aerospace machine shop
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Experience using micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gauges, calipers and other measuring equipment
- Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment
- Ability to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work full-time with minimal supervision and adjust priorities based on workflow
- Willingness to travel to customer sites to perform quality inspections
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs
- US Citizenship
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
