Job Summary
Conduct visual inspections of welds, fabricated vessels, and skidded systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Review welding procedures and specifications, provide guidance to welding personnel, and prepare inspection reports with photos for submission. Perform in-house inspection of PVC internal vessel components and assemblies, including bonding checks for high purity applications. Submit daily records, collaborate with supplier quality control, and maintain accurate documentation of all welding activities. This role requires a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with NDT certification, located in Brooklyn Park, MN, with a salary range of $40 to $45/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma from trade school, preferably in welding
- 3 to 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of inspection of PVDF/PP piping welding for high purity (Semiconductor project) application
- Experience of inspection of PVC piping bonding
- AWS - Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Knowledge of Welding procedure specification (WPS), Welder qualification test record (WQTR), Procedure qualification record (PQR)
- Nondestructive Testing (NDT) certified
- Excellent knowledge of ASME B31.3
- Must have knowledge of ASTM, ASME and D1.1.National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE)
- Proficient in Computers and MS-Office
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Familiar with mechanical measuring equipment and tools
