Job Summary
Quality Inspector responsibilities include inspecting launch vehicle components and sub-assemblies (mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) with a focus on system integration and assembly; developing and executing detailed inspection programs to ensure adherence to design, specification, and testing requirements; documenting non-conformances; collaborating with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve issues and implement corrective actions; quarantining and processing non-conforming product; maintaining tool control and calibration/ metrology processes; reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications (GD&T, IPC standards); supporting manufacturing compliance to customer and internal specifications; and applying 5S and Lean principles while advancing product quality. Desired qualifications include IPC certifications, cleanroom experience, aerospace quality standards (AS9100/ISO 9001), A&P license, Six-Sigma CQI, and related certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read technical information, follow technical instructions, and understand technical drawings, specifications, IPC standards, GD&T
- Experience with standards and/or equivalent quality, military, or government standards in the aerospace industry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility regarding workflow and process
- Excellent organization skills, teamwork, and instruction-following
