Job Summary
Quality Inspector role in Gloucestershire; responsibilities include inspecting raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure quality, performing first-off, in-process, and final inspections against drawings and customer specs, completing goods-inward inspections, executing FAIRs and related docs, maintaining quality records for traceability, identifying non-conforming products and driving corrective actions, supporting internal quality audits, collaborating with manufacturing and engineering to resolve quality issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained, and developing inspection procedures and documentation. Requires experience in manufacturing/engineering environments, GD&T proficiency, FAIR/documentation knowledge, proficiency with micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and other inspection tools, CMM experience is advantageous, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience within a Quality Inspection role in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Knowledge and experience of FAIR creation and quality documentation requirements
- Competent using a range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other precision inspection tools
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), with programming experience advantageous
- Good understanding of quality systems and inspection processes
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to maintain accurate inspection records
- Effective communication skills and ability to work closely with production, engineering and quality teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
