Quality Inspector III

Job Summary
Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products using tools such as pin gages, calipers, optical comparators, and CMM equipment. Identify and segregate non-conforming materials while initiating NCR processes and maintaining calibration records. Compile quality documentation, support first article inspections, and participate in process audits to provide feedback on quality findings. Manage automatic inspection equipment programs and assist with material transactions in Oracle. Train personnel on proper inspection techniques and systems, while driving continuous improvement through problem-solving and corrective action implementation. Adhere to GMP, ISO9001/ISO13485 standards, and safety requirements to achieve site quality and delivery objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Associate's degree or experience in inspection
- 4 years of work experience as a Quality Inspector or 5 years of related inspection experience in the manufacturing industry
- Understanding of GD&T
- Understanding of the ISO9001/ISO13485 quality standards
- Product knowledge
- IPC certification
- Strong computer operation skills (Microsoft Office, Oracle Quality modules)
- Strong ability to read and interpret sampling and inspection plans and engineering drawings
- Experience with the use of measurement tools/equipment and hand gages to measure physical dimensions and other attributes (e.g. pin gage, caliper, optical comparator, SmartScope, pull tester, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience measuring physical dimensions on parts
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Strong and applied knowledge of tolerances
- Strong general mathematics skills
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum Education (preferred): High school graduate or equivalent may be required
- Associate's degree or experience in inspection preferred
- Minimum Experience (preferred): 4 years of work experience as a Quality Inspector or 5 years of related inspection experience in the manufacturing industry may be required
- Some associate's degrees may substitute for years of experience
- Understanding of GD&T
- Understanding of the ISO9001/ISO13485 quality standards preferred
- Product knowledge helpful
- IPC certification may be required
