Quality Inspector II - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Conduct detailed inspections and verifications of incoming materials, in-process work, and final deliverables to ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and project requirements. Assist with preparing, reviewing, and maintaining Inspection and Test Plans, Quality Control Plans, and Method Statements while documenting findings in project management systems. Mentor entry-level inspectors, oversee third-party testing services, and participate in root cause analysis to recommend preventative measures. Review technical drawings and specifications, support internal and external audits, and ensure strict adherence to safety procedures. Requires 3-5 years of construction quality inspection experience, proficiency with inspection tools, and knowledge of AWS, AISC, and ASME standards. Mid-level role with competitive salary, bonus eligibility, and employee stock ownership.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree or vocational certification in construction technology, quality management, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of quality inspection experience in a construction, manufacturing, or industrial setting
  • Proficiency with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, etc.)
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical documentation
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., AWS 01 .1, AISC, ASME, API, ACI)
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
  • Ability to reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis
  • Ability to use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
  • Ability to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Ability to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs on an occasional basis
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (OMS), including ISO 9001
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
  • ICC certifications (e.g., Structural Steel and Bolting, Reinforced Concrete)
  • NDT Level I or II in MT, PT, UT, or RT (if applicable)
  • Experience using project and document control platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Oracle Primavera, BIM 360)
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools
