Quality Inspector II/CMM Operator - Weekend Shift

Job Summary
Conduct final inspections of machined aerospace parts and assemblies using micrometers, calipers, and CMM equipment to ensure compliance with engineering requirements. Initiate nonconformance records for parts not meeting specifications and communicate with internal and external personnel to troubleshoot errors and negotiate re-work resolutions. Document approvals and non-conforming parts while recommending process improvements to enhance inspection effectiveness. Perform simple to moderate layouts and setups on a surface plate and provide quality training to manufacturing personnel. Maintain regular on-site attendance during the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekend shift from 6:00am to 6:30pm, working 36 hours paid for 40.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- U.S. permanent residence (Green Card)
- U.S. protected person status
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate degree or similar post-secondary or vocational training in a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a QA inspection for machined parts and/or assemblies
- Aerospace industry experience
- CMM experience
- Demonstrated accuracy in reading and interpreting blueprints, planning and engineering documents, quality standards, customer specifications, manufacturing control plans including PCM, and other technical design standards
- Advanced mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimal equivalents), familiar with geometric tolerance
- Experience accurately reading precision measuring instrumentation including mics, calipers, height gauges, tape measures, and other similar devices
- Understanding of nonconforming product
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (English)
- Visual acuity to accurately read mics, calipers, or other precision measuring instruments; accurately distinguish colors
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computer keyboards, and measurement instruments, and manually examine parts
- Regular attendance on-site at the workplace
- Ability to regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, including all buildings and the manufacturing areas
- Ability to regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to regularly climb steps, stairs, or ladders
- Ability to occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
- Ability to constantly communicate verbally and in writing (English) using a phone, texts, or other messaging
- Ability to use PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear
- Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly
- Ability to be exposed to excessive noise (hearing protection required)
- Ability to be exposed to dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally)
- Ability to be exposed to extreme temperatures (occasionally)
- Ability to work around hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position
- Must be able to complete a drug screen
- Must be able to complete a criminal background screening
- Must be able to complete a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Must be able to complete a credit report
- Must be able to complete a medical physical examination
- Must be able to work a weekend shift (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
- Must be able to work 36 hours
- Must be able to work from 6:00am - 6:30pm
