Job Summary
Conduct assigned inspection functions in accordance with airworthiness standards and surveillance of all work in progress. Verify calibrated tooling, perform receiving inspections of new or used parts, and ensure maintenance record entries are completed for all items. Brief technicians on quality issues and accept or reject work accomplished based on inspection forms. Interpret technical data, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives while maintaining current 14CFR 145 regulations knowledge. This safety-sensitive position requires an A&P license and is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing. Reports to the Chief Inspector with daily interactions across internal departments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Two years as an QA/QC inspector in a Part 145 organization
- Knowledge of 8130-3 & COC certification
- 2-5 years of performing inspections
- Experience in In-Process Inspections in MRO environment
- Experience in interpreting technical data
- Experience in interpreting service bulletins (SBs)
- Experience in interpreting Airworthiness Directives (ADs)
- Experience in interpreting military Technical Orders (TOs)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or AS9110 standards
- Certificated under 14 CFR Part 65
- A&P License required and must be current as required by 14 CFR Part 65.83
- Ability to operate various test equipment
- Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment
- Proficient in using visual inspection aids
- Ability to use/understand Technical Publications
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings
- Excellent verbal, writing, listening and interpersonal skills
- Detail orientated and organized
- Computer literate
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision
- Must be multi-task/project oriented
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced industry
- Willing to work additional hours when operational objectives require it
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in related field
- Ability to perform internal audits
- Understanding of root cause/correction action analysis (RCCA) methodologies
