Job Summary
Inspect soldering, PCBs, and cable assemblies for workmanship and compliance while following customer specifications and internal procedures. Document inspection results clearly and collaborate with production teams to address findings and improve processes. Utilize handheld and machine-operated electronic inspection tools, including AOI experience, to ensure all assemblies meet IPC-A-610 and J-STD standards. Maintain a safe environment by wearing PPE and adhering to manufacturing safety protocols, while requiring strong visual acuity for inspecting small components under magnification. This role directly impacts customer trust by ensuring circuit board and cable assemblies remain dependable.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and cable assemblies
- Ability to read and use process documentation (travelers, routing sheets, component data sheets, work instructions)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication skills for sharing inspection results and collaborating with team members
- Certification to IPC-A-610, J-STD, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620
- AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) experience
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards
- Experience using FactoryLogix or a similar MES
- Must have strong visual acuity for inspecting small components, including under magnification
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
- Comfortable wearing PPE and working in a production environment
- Use of handheld and/or machine operated electronic inspection tools and equipment is required
- Must be available for weekend shifts
