Quality Inspector - 3rd Shift

Job Summary

Conduct final inspection and in-process audits of parts and assemblies against customer specifications, purchase orders, and quality requirements. Operate CMM and Surfcom contour tracer to measure dimensions, interpret GD&T print requirements, and perform First Article Inspection. Manage source inspectors, process DMRs, and achieve qualification as a customer inspection delegate (DSQR). Maintain control of paperwork, documents, and certifications while adhering to corporate EHS policies and safety protocols. Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Work the 3rd shift with competitive wages, retirement savings plan, health benefits, and paid-time off.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in a quality inspection role within the machining industry
  • experience in an aerospace environment
  • Demonstrated competency with metrology equipment
  • Be able to read and understand aerospace specifications, military specifications, industry specifications, and/or manufacturing instructions
  • Be able to read and interpret all print requirements including those developed using Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • GD&T competency
  • Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company
  • Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results
  • Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned
  • Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies
  • May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual
  • High School graduate or equivalent

Desired Qualifications

  • CMM operation (preferred)
  • Additional quality training
  • ASQ certification
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft (Excel, Outlook, and Word), digital imaging, Adobe Acrobat
