Job Summary
The Quality Inspector on the 2nd Shift at STS Metals is responsible for inspecting all materials incoming, in-process, and final products, as well as completing inspection reports necessary for product quality assurance. This role requires hands-on work on the manufacturing floor, adhering to safety procedures, and engaging in material handling and shipping/receiving duties. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, and proficiency in using various measurement tools. Technical training in metallurgy or aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years’ experience
- Ability to closely follow instructions and read documents
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with managers and coworkers
- Maintain quality practices and safety standards
- Ability to use measurement tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Tape Measures, Ultrasonic Thickness Gages, Gage Blocks, Depth Gages, and Taper Gages
- Ability to document validation results
Desired Qualifications
- Technical certification or training in metallurgy, heat treatment, or aerospace manufacturing
- Aerospace Specifications knowledge
- Forklift certification (or willingness to become certified within 1 month of hire)
