Job Summary
Perform visual inspection of printed materials to identify defects such as ragged edges, torn pages, incomplete cuts, incorrect bindings, smeared or blotched colors, dirt, and other out-of-spec issues. Select samples for packaging and shipment, follow inspection checklists, and record identified defects. Adhere to established quality SOPs to ensure conformance to customer specifications, notify manufacturing management of defects, and assist with disposition of defective or non-conforming product. Requires basic verbal/written communication and organizational skills; prior experience in a printing quality control environment is preferred. The role pays $14.00 to $18.00 per hour, with potential overtime and an array of benefits; contingent offers include pre-employment background check and drug screen. This position is based in Houston, TX and is in-person.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 2 or more years of experience in a quality control/assurance function, especially in printing environment preferred
- basic verbal and written communication skills
- basic organizational skills
- knowledge of general administrative and manufacturing operations procedures
- ability to follow inspection SOPs
- ability to notify management of defects
- ability to assist with disposition of defective product
