Job Summary

Conduct inspections of semi-finished components, precision machined parts, and final fasteners for conformance to specifications and tolerances. Perform physical and metallurgical tests on production parts, prepare mounts via grinding and polishing, and verify calibration on all test equipment. Manage gage room operations including GageTrak system maintenance, temperature monitoring, and in-house calibration of various measuring instruments. Read blueprints, complete test reports, and ensure accurate identification tagging and documentation for all jobs and materials. Adhere strictly to company HSE policies, report safety violations immediately, and implement waste elimination initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 0-1 year of clerical/administrative experience, preferably in a lab, manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Basic mainframe computer systems
  • Familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software
  • Database systems
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Proficient in the use of Calipers
  • Proficient in the use of Micrometers
  • Proficient in the use of Height gages
  • Proficient in the use of ring gages
  • Proficient in the use of pin gages
  • Proficient in the use of go and no-go pin gages
  • Proficient in the use of optical comparator
  • Proficient in the use of microscopes
  • Ability to verify calibration on all test equipment is current prior to use
  • Ability to create, maintain, and issue all gages used by production through the GageTrak System
  • Ability to monitor daily temperature and humidity requirements in gage room
  • Ability to use spreadsheet to find correct offset and insert
  • Ability to calibrate various gages
  • Ability to update the entry in the tracking system
  • Ability to update calibration sticker
  • Ability to control test bolt inventory in the gage room
  • Ability to issue test bolts
  • Ability to request additional test bolts as needed from stock
  • Ability to perform preparation techniques of Metallurgical mounts such as grinding, cutting, polishing and etching
  • Ability to perform physical and metallurgical tests on in-process and final production parts
  • Ability to perform tasks associated with the movement of materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated areas throughout the facility
  • Ability to verify and ensure all jobs and materials have accurate information on the identification tags and the correct documentation has been completed
  • Ability to deliver part samples to quality lab for inspection and evaluation when required
