Quality Engineering Technician Intern

Job Summary
Perform detailed physical, mechanical, and dimensional inspections on incoming components and assembled mobile units using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure adherence to engineering blueprints; generate non-conformance reports (NCRs), track defect trends, and support continuous improvement on the production floor. Partner with full-time Quality and Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot root causes of mechanical assembly issues; maintain and calibrate QA measurement tools; contribute to inspection documentation and SOPs. Ideal candidates are undergraduate students in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with hands-on metrology tool experience, blueprint literacy, strong analytical and communication skills, and a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing mindset. The role is fully in-office at the Spanish Fork, UT facility.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Hands-on experience or academic coursework with calipers, micrometers, and other metrology/measurement tools.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze mechanical drawings, schematics, and engineering blueprints.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities (root-cause analysis, data precision).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting data and presenting findings to the engineering team.
