Job Summary
Lead Quality Engineering for the Advanced Casting Foundry in Asheville, directing the Quality Engineering team and Clinic to support the new internal product line. Drive culture of compliance through collaboration with Operations and Manufacturing; lead process-improvement opportunities using DMAIC, CORE and Lean to enhance quality, reduce cycle time, and cut costs. Establish required QMS enhancements, support FAA & AS9100 scope expansion, and oversee resource allocation to meet customer demand. Provide technical expertise on non-conforming material and manage quality notifications through the MRB process. Collaborate with operations and materials teams to ensure alignment with customer demand; define and implement plans to achieve quality, CORE, and financial metrics; communicate effectively as a leader within Quality and the Advanced Casting Foundry organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 3+ years in a Quality Engineering role
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience or 7 years with an Advanced Degree
- Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality systems
- Experience with DMAIC, CORE, Six Sigma or other Lean methods
- Experience with quality tools (FAI, PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T)
- Experience in root cause corrective action and eliminating non-conformances
- PW Quality system experience or similar
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive improvements
- FAA & AS9100 scope expansion experience preferred
