Quality Engineering Specialist 3 (Hybrid)

Job Summary

Manage and maintain inspection, rejection, and measurement criteria for a variety of parts while leading Material Review Board meetings for nonconforming material dispositions. Conduct root cause corrective actions, analyze datasets to inform inspection decisions, and perform supplier audits to ensure high-quality deliverables. Review engineering designs and manufacturing work instructions for technical feedback, generate First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 requirements, and mentor Quality Technicians. This hybrid role requires on-site presence 1-3 days weekly near Bingen, WA, with a typical hiring range of $90,500 to $124,300. A technical bachelor's degree and five years of related experience are required, along with IPC Specialist certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications; particularly for cables and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
  • Problem solving and analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and present persuasive solutions
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; works effectively and cooperatively with others and establishes and maintains good working relationships
  • Technical aptitude for learning new computer applications and for working in a highly technical environment
  • Communicate effectively in person and via written forms, particularly when discussing technical details
  • Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) for IPC/WHMA-A-620 & IPC-A-610 standards
  • Knowledge and understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001
  • Able and willing to travel across the country to engage with and/or audit suppliers (~10%)
  • Technical bachelor's degree and 5 or more years related work experience, a Master's degree with 3 or more years, or comparable mix of education and experience
  • A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in mathematics, sciences or technologies
  • 4 or more years of experience in a Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, or a similar supply chain focused technical role
  • Education or experience in electrical engineering, design, build, test, etc.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) for IPC/WHMA-A-620 & IPC-A-610 standards
  • AS9100D Lead Auditor Certification from a sanctioned International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG)
  • Knowledge in Quality tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, GR&R), AS9100D, ISO9001, Military Standards
  • Experience with process development, implementation, and documentation
  • Experience with Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) techniques
