Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Coordinate inspection and testing activities for Customer PPAP or sample submissions, perform lab testing, and manage in-house sampling responsibilities including FMEA and control plans. Champion corrective action reports, investigate daily production quality issues, and complete scheduled audits for 5S, IATF, and HS&E compliance. Act as a representative to assigned customers, train plant personnel on quality systems, and work with suppliers to establish critical characteristics while aggressively investigating cost savings opportunities. Prepare reports for management and maintain documented quality systems compliant with IATF16949 requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the fields of science or engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5 Years Min quality related experience and/or training, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Toyota SQAM requirements
  • Excellent working knowledge of Statistics (to include SPC and 6 sigma)
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills (to include 5Whys and Ishikawa)
  • Team Player must be able to support team building activities
  • Background in automotive quality systems and IATF certification
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer literate and proficient in common software packages. e.g. MS Office, QI Macros, Minitab
  • Demonstrated blue print reading and interpretation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate an extensive variety of technical instructions and specifications
  • Training/understanding of problem solving techniques
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen
