Job Summary
Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, control plans, and inspection methods to support ISO 9001 certification and operational excellence. Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing quality issues using root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Analyze process capability, variation, scrap, and warranty data to recommend improvements that reduce the Cost of Poor Quality and prevent defects. Support internal and external audits, coordinate supplier corrective actions, and provide quality training to production staff. Lead structured problem-solving activities including 8D reports and continuous improvement projects focused on reducing rework and enhancing process reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- Three or more years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective action, process improvement, and quality-system documentation
- Working knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, Pareto analysis, FMEA, control plans, statistical process control, and capability studies
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and technical requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project-management skills
- Ability to work effectively on the production floor and collaborate across departments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality-related data analysis and reporting tools
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting an ISO 9001 implementation or working within an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, MSA, GD&T, supplier quality management, or an electronic Quality Management System preferred
- Experience in machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, or other complex manufacturing processes preferred
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
