Job Summary
Quality Engineer responsible for enhancing and stabilizing the Quality Management System, supporting AS9102 First Article Inspection, and improving internal and external quality processes. Key duties include reading blueprints and specifications, performing inspections and testing with calipers/micrometers, maintaining quality documentation, calibrating equipment, coordinating with suppliers, generating SCARs, analyzing data, and supporting New Product Introduction and continuous improvement efforts. Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work under dynamic conditions are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in engineering or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or related field
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards (AS9100 preferred)
- Proficient in using inspection equipment, such as calipers and micrometers
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, acceptance test procedures
- Proficient in MS Office
- Good oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work well independently and part of a team
- Ability to motivate team members in a creative and effective manner
- Ability to work effectively under stressful and dynamic environments
- Interface with quality personnel at customer and supplier levels
- Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures
- Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications
- Perform visual inspections of finished products and grade, classify, or sort products
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102 requirements
- Calibrate, validate, or maintain quality control equipment
- Develop and conduct computational analysis for internal and external validation testing as necessary
- Initiate and maintain communication with suppliers for ongoing issues
- Create and submit Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs)
- Identify root causes and applicable corrective actions related to quality issues
- Execute quality control protocols and provide feedback to management for potential improvements
- Develop documentation needed to support testing procedures for New Product Introduction
- Conduct internal trainings to ensure compliance to quality procedures
- Provide support to other engineering areas of operation
- Any additional tasks necessary to execute on the team’s strategy for operational sustainability
