Job Summary
Quality Engineer responsible for the quality control of solar-module products and manufacturing processes. Develop processes, test procedures, and Standard Work Instructions; monitor scrap and out-of-spec variations; perform root-cause/corrective actions; use statistical analysis to drive improvements; train Quality Technicians and operators; produce quality reports and participate in process changes; oversee PPAP submissions, CAPA, and PFMEA/Control Plans; conduct design reviews and audits; implement SPC and coordinate with suppliers/customers; support continual improvement and ISO compliance; leverage tools like Minitab and Excel for data analysis; collaborate with Leadership to improve manufacturing recipes and product quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum one year of experience in quality role
- Minimum 3+ years experience as Quality Engineer in high-volume, high-tech manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Module manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Certified Quality Engineer accreditation (preferred)
- Knowledge of PV-related certification (UL1703, IEC 61215, IEC61730-1, IEC61730-2) (preferred)
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing/JIT, Six Sigma, SPC/FMEA, MSA, and QA documentation
- Proficient with Excel and data analysis software (e.g., IMP, Minitab)
- Experience with ISO quality standards and quality manual documentation
- Ability to work cross-functionally and lead/or participate in continuous improvement
