Job Summary
Coordinate quality issues across divisions; track corrective action responses; investigate and resolve root causes of customer claims; communicate with mills; participate in selection of supplies and customers. Perform quality audits; develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions; maintain system documents; conduct capability studies and gage studies; manage inspection equipment and calibration activities; complete First Article/PPAP submissions; inspect welds and review procedures; collaborate with welders, engineers, and project management to maintain high quality and safety standards. Qualified candidates will have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, formal Lean training (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S), 2+ years in manufacturing quality roles (steel experience preferred), proficiency with welding processes, ISO 9001/14000 and IATF 16949 familiarity, and AWS CWI certification.”,
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- Formal Lean training (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, etc.) required; Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt a plus
- 2+ years in a similar role within the manufacturing industry; steel experience strongly preferred
- Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (required)
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, etc.)
- Experience with stainless steel piping required. Exposure to Orbital Welding a plus.
