Job Summary
Ensure the site meets customer specific requirements and adheres to the NSG Business Management System by translating customer needs into production specifications, control plans, and process FMEAs. Maintain customer communications to handle quality issues timely, lead corrective action response (CAR) problem solving, and direct resources for containment activities. Perform quality system, control plan, and safety audits for IATF16949 compliance, review supplier sample submissions, and manage the SQIN database. Support production with defect investigations, manage PPAP processes, and conduct GR&R studies for measurement equipment. Participate in the New Model Introduction process and cost reduction activities while ensuring part files are organized. This role supports new product launches and business growth for an automotive Tier 1 supplier manufacturing glass and windows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or a combination of education and experience or equivalent experience
- 3+ years Engineering or Quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Tier 1 experience
- 3+ years Experience with IATF 16949 / ISO9001 or similar quality system requirements and auditing
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve using a formalized methodology (8D, Fishbone, 5Why)
- Demonstrated strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and statistical software)
- Demonstrated Knowledge of PPAP requirements
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and customers
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawing/specifications
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and take initiative
- Demonstrated achievements supporting a results oriented focus and use of leadership
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable DMV record
- Regular and predictable attendance at the manufacturing plant
Desired Qualifications
- IATF 16949 auditor certification
- Prior Supervision and/or project management experience
- CQE Certification
- Six sigma green belt or black belt certification
- Additional customer certification training-ie LPA, GIM, 5P, etc.
