Job Summary

The Quality Engineer will maintain and improve quality management systems at Sequel Wire and Cable, ensuring product compliance with customer and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include developing quality systems for low voltage operations, investigating customer quality concerns, managing compliance with UL/CSA/ETL certifications, conducting calibrations and testing, analyzing production metrics for quality improvements, and leading quality assurance audits. The ideal candidate should have a background in manufacturing or process quality engineering, ideally related to wire and cable production, possess strong problem-solving and communication skills, and be comfortable working on the production floor.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or process quality engineering, ideally in wire and cable production
  • Must be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a positive team player mentality
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to meet required deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in wire and cable manufacturing, particularly low-voltage wire
  • Strong understanding of wire manufacturing, extrusion, and tooling processes
  • Experience with UL/CSA certification processes and agency audits
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SPC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working on the production floor in a fast-paced environment.
