Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Determine incoming inspection methods for components, sub-assemblies, and chassis; develop quality control procedures, test fixtures, and evaluate product limitations. Lead design validation for new products and features while providing engineering support for reliability screening and finished goods inspection. Initiate 8D problem-solving activities in response to field failures and coordinate with suppliers to ensure component selection meets reliability standards. Conduct regular quality reviews with stakeholders to drive process improvement and nonconformance reduction. This role requires residence within 40 miles of the Pittsburgh headquarters for onsite presence, occasional travel to suppliers or customers, and adherence to PPE and lifting requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or acceptable related Engineering discipline)
  • 1-2 years Engineering role experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical testing standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Capable of following strict adherence to detailed specifications
  • Visual acuity necessary to inspect material and workmanship to published specifications
  • Ability to operate computer and electronic equipment requiring fine adjustment and data entry
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Valid real ID/passport
  • Must be able to lift electronic equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and to a height of 3-5 feet
  • Must be able to wear PPE (shoes, glasses)
  • Must be able to work in an environment with frequent exposure to sustained noise (vehicle warning signals) and flashing lights
  • Residence within 40 miles of our Pittsburgh headquarters facility for onsite presence

Desired Qualifications

  • Quality Engineering experience in automotive or electromechanical technology industries
  • Familiarity with ISO9001, ITAF 16949: current editions or equivalent standards
  • Six Sigma green belt certification
  • Familiarity with Linux based operating systems
  • General knowledge of industrial communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet)
