Job Summary
Quality Engineer role onsite in Rockford, MI to ensure compliance with customer engineering and quality requirements throughout production from receipt of purchase orders to delivery. Responsibilities include contract review, internal audits to AS9100 Rev D, development and approval of procedures and work instructions, risk management, 8D and other root-cause analysis, and collaboration with planning, outside processors, and customers to facilitate controlled manufacturing plans; perform QA activities including training, corrective actions, and continuous improvement while maintaining safety compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Five years’ experience in aerospace quality related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering a plus or at least 5 years’ experience in the same or similar role without a degree
- Collaboration with Manufacturing, Program Management, Engineering, and Sales staff to meet customer requirements
- Lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement/value stream experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in QMS and AS9100 Rev D
- Experience with Quality Assurance, job/work order planning, D6-1276 and other OEM frozen planning requirements, OEM customer quality and engineering requirements, heat treat and processing specifications, selection of customer approved suppliers, quality requirements for procurement of raw material, contract review of customer quality and engineering requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and MRP systems
- Works independently, follows instructions, can concentrate for long periods of time and is able to tolerate multiple interruptions throughout the day
- Team player with a can-do attitude
