Job Summary
Build and scale test automation, quality infrastructure, and performance testing systems by leading the design of core frameworks, including migrations from Cypress to Playwright. Perform root cause analysis on product defects and test failures, triaging issues to determine whether failures stem from the product, tests, or environment before routing them to the right owner. Tackle challenging quality problems from automation architecture to AI-assisted testing, driving projects from ideation to deployment with high autonomy. This role requires 3-5+ years of experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, with a focus on mentoring engineers and raising the quality bar across the organization. Based in Austin, Texas, with remote possibilities.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience building and maintaining test automation for complex software systems
- Excellent programming ability in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Proven track record of designing, leading, and delivering large-scale, cross-functional quality initiatives
- Comfortable triaging and debugging test failures independently
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on both product bugs and flaky or failing tests
- Hands-on experience integrating AI into the quality workflow
- Significant experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership
- History of driving quality strategy and vision
- Role based in Austin, Texas
