Job Summary
Control incoming, in-process, and outgoing product quality while managing customer complaints from line and field failures. Devise and review quality systems across plant operations to drive zero defects, overseeing development activities and resolving deviations affecting product or processes. Supervise operations teams toward continuous improvement goals through Six Sigma, QCC, and Kaizen schemes, involving 100% of employees. Prepare MIS reports on quality for senior management and conduct regular reviews with operations teams. Perform statistical analysis using SPC and control charts, and visit customers to gather feedback and challenge existing designs for enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- DME/BE in Mechanical Engineering
- at least 8-10 years' of experience
- at least 3 years should be in a similar role in a reputed company (Tier-II or Tier-III)
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer
- Must be Six sigma Green belt (minimum)
- min 2-3 projects handled in a year
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes like Steel machining, heat treatment, welding, plating, painting, assembly, and product testing
- Leadership qualities
- Eye for detail and result oriented approach
- Proficient with MS office
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis
- SPC, control charts and use of minitab or equivalent
- Problem solving skills – use of 8D methodology, SS tools, QCC, Kaizens, TPM..etc
