Job Summary
Quality Engineer leads QA for new and existing products and processes in the manufacturing plant, serving as a liaison across internal departments to deliver timely resolutions for customers. Role includes developing, refining, and enforcing product-specific quality systems to ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards. Responsibilities include leading 8D-based root-cause analysis, preparing PPAP or equivalent customer qualification packages, managing RMAs and Quality Alerts, supporting product launches and changes, monitoring production against control plans, implementing preventive actions, establishing inspection/testing standards, creating documentation for quality data, training staff, coordinating with vendors on quality concerns, and handling defective material claims and packaging/receiving issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is highly preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems
- Proficiency with APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, MSA, and SPC
- Blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
