Quality Engineer

Job Summary
Review customer specifications, fabrication drawings, and process requirements while supporting new product introduction activities. Develop inspection plans, work instructions, and quality checklists to ensure manufacturing compliance. Analyze yields, scrap rates, and defects to identify improvement opportunities and partner with Engineering and Manufacturing on process enhancements. Manage customer complaints, root cause investigations, and supplier corrective actions using methodologies like 8D and 5 Why. Maintain ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485 compliance, prepare management reports, and lead continuous improvement projects across operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline
- 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, contract manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 13485, and ITAR requirements
- Experience with statistical analysis, SPC, process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), GR&R, DOE, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP
- Strong root cause analysis and corrective action experience
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, PCB fabrication drawings, schematics, and customer specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with ERP/MES/QMS software
- Experience with IPC standards
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, IPC-6012, IPC-2221, IPC-2222, and IPC-7711/7721
