Job Summary
Lead and coach production teams on root cause analysis, 8D, and containment actions while defining rework instructions and quality alerts. Analyze internal and customer quality issues to drive corrective actions, train inspectors, and maintain KPIs. Support new product launches by coordinating training, developing standard work instructions, and contributing to PPAP submissions. Audit control plan adherence, monitor scrap performance, and escalate non-conformances. Promote IATF 16949 and YFAI compliance across the organization as a certified lead auditor. Requires 2-5 years in automotive, IATF 16949 training, and willingness to travel to customer sites.
Required Qualifications
- Less Than 1 of Experience with direct customer contact and project management
- 2-5 Years of Experience within the automotive industry
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces
- Must be organized and able to communicate well with others
- Must be able to perform each essential duty, satisfactorily
- Working knowledge and demonstrated competence of IATF16949
- IATF 16949 training as Lead Auditor
- Certified Lead YF IOS auditor
- If not, must be obtained within 1 year
Desired Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Experience managing quality and delivery issues with demanding customers; Tier 1 automotive experience
- Strong background in problem-solving, industrial standards, and best practices within large manufacturing operations
- Practical experience applying Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies to improve products, processes, and workflows
- Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and productivity gains
- Solid knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949)
- Proven track record of achieving results
- Effective communication skills
- Strong commitment to safety and quality excellence
