Quality Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct product quality assessment and improvement through inspection, dispositioning, and application evaluation. Analyze slab quality data to determine customer order requirements and establish mill capability limits with engineers. Investigate quality-related issues, evaluate customer problems, and communicate necessary process changes using automated data systems. Train workforce on quality standards and ensure safety policies are followed while reporting daily quality metrics. Review product disposition as prime, rework, or reclass, and observe outside processing units to assess quality. Provide technical advice to the organization and support Quality and Operations management groups.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in metallurgical engineering, materials science, or similar engineering field of study
- 3 to 5 years' experience working in a Quality Engineer function
- solid foundation of technical knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Must be trustworthy in all areas of profession and personal performance
