Job Summary
Quality Engineer for Mainstream leads QA/quality engineering activities, oversees inspectors, and drives supplier quality, incoming/in-process/final validation, and record-keeping to support traceability. Responsible for administering the QMS software and maintaining ISO 9001 compliance and other certifications. Collaborates with engineering on new product development to implement advanced product quality planning and inspection planning, applies GD&T per ASME Y14.5, improves procedures, generates inspection reports, and maintains documentation revision control. Oversees supplier QA, risk management with supply chain, manages nonconforming products (NCPs), and evaluates RMAs with root-cause analysis. Requires hands-on experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment for machined, plastic molded, sheet metal, tubing, wiring harnesses, electronics/PCB, and chemical products for aerospace and commercial sectors. Requires AS/BS in engineering or related field and 5+ years of quality leadership with 10+ years total quality experience; US citizenship per ITAR; QT9 QA software experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- AS or BS in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or applicable technical field and/or a recognized quality certification program is required.
- Minimum 5 years quality leadership experience.
- Minimum 10 years overall quality experience.
- In depth knowledge of quality and reliability methods and procedures for hardware and software systems as they apply to the aerospace and defense industry.
- Experience with QT9 Quality Management Software (or similar) preferred.
- US citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulations
