Quality Engineer - LED Lighting Products

Job Summary
Lead investigations of product, process, and supplier quality issues, performing root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and FMEA methodologies. Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions while supporting incoming inspection, in-process controls, and final product verification. Maintain and improve the Quality Management System by managing procedures, work instructions, and document control processes to ensure compliance with internal and external audits. Partner with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to drive continuous improvement in yield, defects, and customer satisfaction. Act as a quality resource on the production floor, developing inspection plans and training employees on best practices. Support supplier qualification and performance monitoring to resolve incoming material quality issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- 3-8 years of experience in a Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Quality Systems role
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and quality assurance methodologies
- Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, process improvement, and statistical problem-solving techniques
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams
- Comfortable working in both office and production floor environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in electronics, LED lighting, power electronics, or electromechanical manufacturing
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems
- Experience with supplier quality management
- Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), MSA, FMEA, and process validation
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or related certification
